Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Steven has been in the hair industry for more than 30 years. He started out training in Corpus Christi and has taken advanced cutting, coloring and business classes from Toni & Guy, Aveda, Bumble and bumble and Wella. Steven's career and training spans the globe, from New York to London, Prague, Russia, and Paris. Steven loves that everyday is different; that he can make people look and feel better about themselves all in a matter of minutes. Steven has certainly earned, as he likes to say, his PhD (Pretty Hair Doctor)—hair is his life!
Steven enjoys his time away from the salon, too. He likes to go for power walks and spends time working in his yard. He is very close to his family and time spent with them brings him much happiness.
Jess was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and attended Toni&Guy Academy in Dallas, TX. She has been doing hair for 7 years and been a massage therapist for 13 years. She loves being able to help people look as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside and helping people with their self-confidence.
Jess loves to do big hair transformations from color corrections to creative colors. She also really enjoys long haircuts. Jess has attended advanced education courses for Toni&Guy, trending techniques with Toni&Guy, balayage classes with Davines, Wella color education and Kevin Murphy styling class. She had done hair for a photo shoot with a luxe Bohemia clothing line and was the hair artist for the short film “Petals and Stems”!
In her free time, Jess loves vintage shopping, baking and exploring Texas. She also loves to spend time with her two nephews and niece. A fun fact about Jess: She is working on a plus sized clothing line—all vintage-inspired and homemade with vintage sewing machines.
Charlene is an Austinite, born and raised. She attended Vogue Cosmetology School here in Austin. Charlene has been in the hair business for 30 years and at Bella for almost half that time— 15 years!
Charlene is very focused on customer service. She loves teaching clients to love their hair and gets great joy out of seeing their reactions to how beautiful they look after she has spent time with them. Charlene has Keratin Coppola certification and has continued her professional development extensive training in Wella and Schwarzkopf color lines as well as Hot Heads hair extension. Charlene is also our resident expert on the Oribe line of care and styling products.
In addition to doing keratin conditioning treatments, color services and hair extensions, Charlene also enjoys doing men’s haircuts.
When she’s not in the salon, Charlene loves to watch sports, especially football and basketball. She loves to be outside in nature, which includes working in her yard creating a beautiful garden. Charlene is the mother of three—twin boys and a girl. She also has three grandchildren.
A fun fact about Charlene: During the Texas Film Festival a few years ago, she styled Ali MacGraw’s hair as well as Forest Whitaker’s wife’s hair.
Shae was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and attended the Aveda Institute of Columbus, earning a degree in cosmetology. Shae has been in the industry for 12 years, working in New York City and Columbus, Ohio before coming to Austin. Shae is a men’s grooming specialist and also excels at women’s color and balayage. She loves the constantly changing nature of the beauty business and is especially adept at connecting with her clients.
Shae has taken many advanced professional development courses in color and cutting. She’s attended Vidal Sassoon classes in both San Francisco and Chicago, L’Oreal classes in New York City and many Aveda classes. In addition, she has participated in salon sponsored classes from Wella, Oribe and Keratase. Working as a cutting instructor, coach and mentor throughout her career, in addition to being a stylist has given Shae a unique perspective on the industry.
When her workday is completed, Shae loves to hang out with her dog, Lola, a 15-year-old Chihuahua/Italian greyhound mix. She also loves all things outdoors, especially riding her motorcycle. If she’s inside, she can be found reading or enjoying a drink with friends.
Born in Tuscan, Arizona, Raquel moved to Texas when she was 8 and has lived in Austin most of her life. She attended Baldwin Beauty in Austin and has been styling hair for more than 13 years.
Raquel loves continuing education and has attended classes from Wella, Schwartzkopf, Redkin, Lanza Oribe, R&Co, to name a few. She has traveled to Las Vegas and Dallas for classes and shows and won first place in a nationwide contest for Oribe.
Raquel loves being able to make people feel beautiful as she works her magic with their hair. She loves doing all things hair and feels color is her strongest skill. She loves blow drying the hair and seeing her work come alive. She also loves the challenge of blowing out curly hair to make it straight and the creative freedom of doing updos.
When not in the salon, Raquel’s time is spent with her family. She and her partner Richard have two children, Heaven, 15 and Reign, 4. They love to cook, grill fish, and be outside or in the water. Raquel also considers herself a softball mom and she is obsessed with sunglasses!
In the beauty industry for 18 years, Ginnie loves to make people feel good about themselves and give them confidence.
As a military brat, Ginnie considers herself to be from Virginia Beach, VA. She’s lived in Canada and Italy as well as other areas of the US. She attended cosmetology classes as part of her high school curriculum and also studied Radio/Television/Film and Drama. She worked in Film and Theater both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, including hair and makeup.
Ginnie has taken many color, highlighting, balayage, hair cutting and product knowledge classes mainly from Redken, L’anza, Swartzkopf, Wella and Oribe. Ginnie is great with gray coverage, highlights and balayage. She also enjoys the challenge of color correction.
Ginnie's make-up training includes Urban Decay, Smashbox, Benefit, Too Faced, Bare Minerals, Stila, Peter Thomas Roth and Murad. She likes giving make up tips to the make-up challenged or those who are just looking for a change.
Ginnie loves to watch live music, run, read, cook and check out new restaurants. She and her husband have two boys and two rescued pitbulls. It’s a chaotic life, but one she wouldn’t have any other way.
Born and raised in Okie territory, Katie is now a 14 year Austin resident and Longhorn supporter every game of the year but one. Katie loves all aspects of hair and is grateful that she does not get compartmentalized into just cut or color, but if pushed to speak to her specialties, she’d reply, “Blondes are my jam!” She loves creating multi-dimensional hair. She also enjoys short “sassy” haircuts, and her own hair proves it.
Katie loves to laugh and has always felt laughter is truly the best medicine, next to fabulous hair, of course. Over the course of her career in hair and 17 years of customer service, she has learned that at the end of the day, people are just people wanting the same things, and with that in mind, she listens to her clients’ needs, and feels it is one of her strongest talents.
On her days off, you can find Katie with her fur-babies, Mookie her Pug, and Olivia her French bulldog. The other love in her life is Matt Lauer. No….not the TV guy, but her very own Matt. They have been the not so high profile Matt and Katie for 10 years now. Most weekends, they can be found curling up on the couch watching movies. Katie and her husband are excited to have added a new member to their family—baby Emerson was born in December of 2015.
Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Sam started doing hair, makeup and nails as a young girl. When she decided to make it a career, she attended the Cosmetology Training Center in Lafayette. She was licensed in 2008.
Sam loves the industry, especially educating and learning from others about healthy living for a beautiful life while keeping current trends in the mix. Sam is intent on practicing her craft in order to be a master of all things hair, skin, nails and nature. She loves doing blowouts, bobs and balayage. She is skilled in boys’ and men’s grooming, working with brunettes, and transforming and maintaining her clients’ beauty needs.
When not at the salon, Sam loves spending time with friends and family. She has two dogs, Maggie, a Wheaton terrier mix and Stella, a Border collie mix. She enjoys many outdoors activities including hiking, gardening and traveling. Sam is on a mission to learn and teach—from touching lives from behind the chair to practicing sustainable living of all things organic.
Born and raised in Midland, Texas, Keith moved to Austin in 2008. With 23 years experience, Keith loves that his work allows him to constantly challenge himself to keep up with the ever-changing trends in the beauty industry.
Keith has taken Oribe “backstage” style classes and worked backstage at the 2013 New York Fashion Week for fall collections. He specializes in blonding services—highlights, balayage, ombré. He enjoys doing bridal hair and make-up, vintage styling and men’s hair.
In his free time, Keith loves biking, yoga and hiking.
Having worked in the beauty industry for 11 years, Amy enjoys cutting, coloring and styling her clients’ hair. She likes to having hand in helping people love their hair. Since she’s a blond and has been every shade, she considers blonding one of her specialties and loves doing keratin treatments. Taking people with curly, frizzy and unruly hair and making it manageable and luxurious can be life changing.
Amy has continuing her education classes with both Wella and Schwarzkopf color classes as well as Oribe cutting classes to keep current with trends and fashion. Amy is also certified by Pravana as a Balayage Master.
Her work has been featured in the Austin American Statesman’s glossy section.
In her free time, Amy loves taking her four-year old son, Easton, and their chocolate lab to the park. When she’s not with those two, she enjoys going to the movies with her husband. She is an avid reader and loves her Kindle. Her passion -- besides hair -- is shopping. A fun fact about Amy: Prior to her career in beauty, she used to work for the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in Atlanta, GA.
Adrienne is a Texan through and through. She was born in Austin, grew up in nearby Georgetown and now resides in North Austin. She attended cosmetology school at the Avenue Five Institute here in Austin. Adrienne is a Vidal Sassoon certified stylist. She has taken Wella hair painting classes at their New York City studio. She has expert knowledge of Oribe, R+CO and Wella products. Adrienne can create dimensional blondes, rich brunettes with depth, and uses balayage techniques as she transforms people into the most beautiful versions of themselves.
Adrienne knew at a very early age that she was destined to work with hair. She loved to cut her Barbie’s hair, and when she was seven years old, even attempted her sister’s bangs. She loves that the beauty industry is so creative and constantly evolving. Mostly, she loves the people it connects her to, whether it is fellow stylist or amazing clientele. She loves making people feel beautiful and happy when they walk out the door of the salon.
In her free time, Adrienne loves anything outdoors—running, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting—especially if it includes a cold Margarita. Adrienne is on a deer lease in West Texas so that is where you can find her every weekend in the fall. She is also a reality TV junkie. Adrienne has two fur kids which are her pride and joy. A caveat from Adrienne: Don’t text and walk. She once broke her foot doing just that. #itcanwait.
Lany was born and raised in Austin. She attended Baldwin Beauty School and has been licensed for four years. However, Lany started doing hair long before that, when she was a preteen! While in beauty school, Lany received awards in both men’s barbering and updo styles. Lany loves being part of an industry that makes other people pretty. In a typical day, she hears from clients about their lives and the different kinds of relationships they have with themselves. She loves that she gets to learn about them and create a unique bond with each. Seeing how her work helps each client feel good is very gratifying for Lany.
Like most hairstylists, Lany loves a good transformation that includes cutting and lightening/coloring services. She is most confident in creative and edgy styles, even when a client is not sure of what to expect.
When not working, Lany enjoys spending time with her family. Her parents and siblings all live in Austin so she gets to see them weekly—especially for Sunday dinner. Lany’s dog, Mars, enjoys taking walks and going on car rides so of course Lany obliges. Lany enjoys concerts and seeing live music, as well as hiking. A fun fact about Lany: She has had bangs since she was a baby. Her hair didn’t really grow in until she was 4 but once it did, she had bangs cut and has had “micro bangs” ever since!
